Sunday School
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galations 6:9

The proverbs say in Prov 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Our youth today have little opportunity to learn about God, His Son and purpose with us as Children of God, except in Sunday School.  Therefore we place great emphasis on the quality of the Bible-based study for the youth.

During the regular school year, the Los Angeles Ecclesia holds a weekly Sunday School.  The Sunday School begins normally at 9:30 am and lasts for an hour, after which a snack is served.  After a short general assembly, including a hymn, announcements and Bible reading, each of the classes goes to a separate room where students learn fundamental subjects about the Bible.  These classes follow a regular program during the year.  The classes cover all age groups from pre-school through high school and university level studies.  Each class has a dedicated teacher(s) during the year.  Each class may assign home work so that the students return the next week prepared.  Each student maintains a notebook of the material studied during the year.  Notebooks are useful for the student, the teacher and the parents.

The Sunday School begins the year in early September with a kick-off breakfast and special program and concludes in June with a special program, including awards for each student to encourage each in their individual efforts.

The Sunday School also conducts and adult Sunday School class at the same time as the youth program.  This class explores the subjects of the youth classes but takes the study to a deeper level.

We openly invite our neighbors to attend our Sunday School with their youth.

For the 2019-2020 year (until overtaken by the closure due to COVID-19) the classes were studying Bible Stories from the New Testament.

2020 – 2021 Sunday School Year

Commencing on September 13, with a special Sunday School, virtual classes on Zoom will begin for each class.  The main focus begins with studies in the Acts of the Apostles and later in stories from the letters of the New Testament.  Virtual classes will continue until it is safe to return  to class room activities.  If you or your children would like to attend virtual classes, please contact us for links to sites.
